To add the CGPAddress= line to the default.ica file in C: inetpub wwwroot Citrix PNAgent conf but it gives a different error: 'Unable to launch your application. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server.
I'm going to preface this with: I have no access to the Citrix Presentation server. I have no training in Citrix. My googling tells me that this is an issue on the other side, however, they are insisting it's an issue with our desktops. This is also kind of long and convoluted, sorry. We have access to another facility's EMR, via Citrix.
This arrangement has worked very well for quite a while, although, they haven't let me know about some changes over the years until after they started affecting staff here.We had a complete system down emergency a few weeks ago, due to a transformer outside the clinic exploding. Since that time, we've had a ton of users having issues connecting to the other facility's Citrix farm. 99% of them get this error:Google tells me that this on the server side. The staff over the servers told me to delete the user's profile from their computer and that should fix it.I can't really delete that without causing a big fuss, though. On a whim, I noticed that one of the user's had a folder redirection error, they weren't owner of their home folder. When I fixed that, and deleted the ICAClient folder out of their%appdata% folder, they were able to launch the Citrix app. Until they logged out and back in.
Then the error came back. Deleting the ICAClient folder doesn't seem to help any more. Also, to make things really strange, if people log in via our VDI system, it works fine, most of the time.I'm stuck, any help is appreciated.
Hmm as this is happening in the majority of cases, it should be fairly quickly to narrow down what's going on. Are you able to access their citrix from an alternate location e.g.
It would rule out whether or not the issue is site based or on their side. You should be able to also start to trend whether or not there a commonality by capturing the ICA files as you are attempting to launch applications. Google should return you results on how to so this. When you open the text file you will be able to see what server it is connecting to. If it's always the same server; then something is awry on their side that needs sorting.
If you get stuck with the ICA file capture let me know and I'll try and dig out the CTX article Thanks JasonEdited Jun 22, 2017 at 04:36 UTC. That seemed to work.
When I came back this morning, the user was no longer able to login, again getting a Protocol Driver error. I was able to launch the app from a different computer, logged into the computer as one of the affected users. The hospital that hosts this application says that they aren't seeing this issue on their end. They advised deleting the user profile from the affected computer, which I'm kind of unwilling to do.
I have had success deleting the Citrix folder out of the users App DataLocal folder, but it's very fleeting. Totally get why you wouldn't want to have to rebuild your profiles on each users machine. When you stated this is happening on 99% of the machines, how many users are we talking about? You could also try running the Citrix Receiver cleanup utility. The thing is a beast and will remove all citrix receiver settings known to mankind. Reinstall Receiver and re-test.It is still possible that there could be a xenapp server blackholing the connections that the hospital aren't aware of (capturing the ICA file would tell you what that server may be, especially over several machines/users).Let us know how you get onCheersJason. My current suspicion is something with our home share. I have a workstation in our office:- Could not launch Citrix app- Upgraded it's Receiver- Ran the Receiver reset- Logged in as a problematic user, Citrix application was working fine- Logged out of user, logged in as myself, Citrix app launchedI then let the workstation sit overnight. When I returned in the morning, I could no longer launch the Citrix app.
HiSorry for the delayed reply; was away for a long weekend. If memory serves me correctly; you should at the very least get a blank screen when telnetting to a citrix server on 2598 (others may correct me on this). If yours is coming up connection refused and Citrix has been told to use session reliability then that could very well be the source of your problems.I can check on an older farm tomorrow morning for you if this helps. If our farm answers on 2598 then I think we may have pinpointed the issue.CheersJason.

I found out that our DS install was basically offline since the power outage. I started it back up at about 7:30 this morning, and had a ton of people having connectivity issues.
It all calmed down within an hour. Still seeing the error quite a bit, but it seems to be slowly trickling down. Mercutio879 wrote:It was Trend. I'm guessing that the Web Reputation service has some sort of built in white-list that it uses when it can't contact it's configured server. That server was offline for some reason. I bounced it, got the DSVAs back up and going and all seems well again, except one of the DSVAs is stuck 'Upgrading Software.' I've put a ticket in with Trend support. Thanks all!Thank for the update! Please never hesitate to PM or tag me in anything.
I have been with Trend for 5 years and they gave me the GG role cause I have a knack for being able to hunt down answers or contacts that can give us answers.
This question already has an answer here:.7 answersI just installed Ubuntu 17.10. Everything seems to be working quite okay, except that I'm unable to use Synaptic. I installed it with (apparently) no problems, but when I click its icon, nothing happens.Trying from the terminal this is the error I get: No protocol specifiedUnable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused(synaptic:3572): Gtk-WARNING.: cannot open display:Any idea what this means? Thanks in advance for the support.
